An engraving of Dukinfield Hall at the time our first proven ancester Robert Stanley 1721-1798 (5 x Great Grandfather) lived there and ran the Dukinfield Hall Farm for the Astley's. Robert had two known wives Mary Kelsall and Ann Gee. He had five known children with Mary and eleven with Ann, and at least two children by a possible first wife. Fourteen of these eighteen children survived to adulthood. Some of the details are sketchy because Dukinfield Old Chapel's records are missing between the years 1713 and 1764. I have so far traced 75 of his grandchildren and 714 direct descendants.
