John Stanley's tomb in St Peter's Church yard, Ashton-under-Lyne. John was the uncle our great, great grandfather Robert Reschid Stanley came to live with in 1838. He was also one of the main elders of John Wroe's 'Christian Israelite' sect in Ashton and funded the building of the 'Sanctuary' in 1825, total cost £9,500.
